Jo and Dan are getting married at the end of the year and as part of their wedding photography package, took advantage of the free engagement shoot. The first session we booked was rained out. Yes, we could have gone ahead, but when you have a choice, why not try for sunshine!
The result was a glorious day in Ocean View at the beautiful and practical Ocean View Winery and Estates. A gorgeous place to have dinner, stay for the weekend in their glorious cabins, or as a picturesque wedding venue no matter what time of year.
See the joy and excitement in Jo and Dan as I guide them throughout the day. We used direct sun, backlit, movement and static as well all sorts of different heights to achieve the variety of images you want from an engagement shoot. Use your engagement shoot to really get to know your wedding photography. It also gave me a chance to see how Jo and Dan reacted to the camera and what they like and do not like.
There are always some elements of which a person is more self-conscious and an engagement shoot highlights this. It also shows if you are blinkers and sun-sensitive. A really important element is to find out how much free will your hands have! Some people’s hands just dont relax. Jo was one of these people and it took some working to get her to do so, and even then they got nervous – a great thing to know for a wedding day.
We had a ball. Jo and Dan received some wonderful photographs of their lead up to their wedding. Enjoy some of the moments. And it is a lot of fun.
